Yes! I’ve see this stat around so many times this year… sometimes as a way to discuss how much we underestimate our needs, sometimes as a way to show the opposite. And while the number is interesting (in the same way that it’s interesting to learn that 65% of Americans believe in aliens (sure! why not!)) it isn’t exactly… useful. Your number depends on what “comfortable” means to you, how long you expect to live, what you value, your insurance situation, your tolerance for risk…

But anyway, I’m not opposed to interesting (30% of Americans have at least one tattoo!).
